How to streamline ETL processes: Database + Email

/ ~ 2 minutes read

We continue unpacking the optimization of standard business processes with the ETL process that includes data flow in databases.

Let's start with identifying ETL processes. ETL stands for extracttransformload – three fundamental database functions that are can be united into one tool to pull data out of one database and put it into another one. These processes are usually well-documented, rule-based, and with expected results, so it's a perfect candidate for automation with programmed bots.

To speed up these processes and increase the productivity of your team, we created ElectroNeek RPA. It can automatically recognize important information from all types of documentation (printed, scanned documents, images, PDFs, etc.), transform it into more useful forms and enter it into the destination database.

For example, you want to know the feedback from recent customers of a new product. To do that, you have to find relevant people in your database (such as SQL), send each of them a personalized email, and add their feedback into the new column of the same database. Sounds easy, but let's say the new product had a huge success, and you sold 1000 items. You'll need a team to perform this well-structured, repetitive task and probably two days to finish it. Don't forget about putting messages from clients back into the database. This tedious task can be done by only one RPA bot without any human interference.
